Come and join us in the Jam Kitchen for the following Special Events!

June 11: STRAWBERRY DAY at Green Briar - 10am to 4pm.

Enjoy fresh strawberries in a homemade dessert served in the historic 1903 Jam Kitchen and view old fashioned strawberry jam making from 11am-2pm. Fee for dessert is $4.00. Sample jam tastings in our gift shop. Browse among the used book sale. Visit the resident animals, stroll the paths of the Wildflower Garden or walk the trails of the Old Briar Patch.

June 26: ANNUAL MEETING at Green Briar - 5:30pm.

The Annual Meeting of the Thornton W. Burgess Society will be held in the Putnam Education Building at Green Briar. All members are invited. Program and light refreshments will follow a brief meeting. Please call the office at 508-888-6870 for further details.

July 13: GARDEN TOUR in Sandwich - 10am to 4pm.

August 6: BLUEBERRY DAY at Green Briar - 10am to 4pm.

Celebrate our native blueberry at the height of the season. Enjoy a special homemade blueberry dessert served in the historic Green Briar Jam Kitchen along with a demonstration of blueberry jam making from 11am-2pm. Desserts are $4.00. Spend some time enjoying all that Green Briar has to offer.  Free admission to all.

August 10: PETER RABBIT'S ANIMAL DAY at Green Briar - 10am to 3pm.

This popular fun day for families takes place at the Green Briar Nature Center  from 10 am - 3 pm.  Enjoy live animal exhibits, games/crafts for young children, a pet rabbit show, animal story times and personal appearances by Peter Rabbit.   Free admission for all.  

Do you have a pet rabbit? Pet Rabbit Show: 10am to noon at Animal Day. Entry forms are available at Green Briar or by calling 508-888-6870. Forms should be submitted by August 11.

September 10 & 11: BIRD CARVER & WILDLIFE ARTS SHOW & SALE at Green Briar - 10am to 4pm.

New England’s most prestigious carvers of birds and animals plus wildlife painters will gather at Green Briar to show and sell their wares during our 11th annual carvers’ show. Some will give carving demonstrations for the public.    All admission fees benefit the educational programs of the Burgess Society. Purchase tickets at the door. Admission: $3 members, $5 non-members.

October 1: CAPE COD CRANBERRY DAY at Green Briar - 10am to 4pm.

Green Briar celebrates this native berry so prominent in the history of Cape Cod. See cooking demonstrations in the historic 1903 Jam Kitchen using traditional cranberry jam and relish recipes. Enjoy a delicious homemade cranberry dessert, clam chowder or chili served from 11am-2pm. Spend some time walking the nature trails on a fine fall day. Fee for dessert is $4.00.

November 5: AN EVENING FOR GREEN BRIAR

Nov 26 & 27, Dec 3 & 4, 10 & 11, 17 & 18:
COUNTRY CHRISTMAS OPEN HOUSE at Green Briar - Saturdays 10am to 4pm; Sundays 12pm to 4pm.

Come by our Open House at Green Briar during the four weekends before Christmas. Taste a sampling of our delicious Jam Kitchen products and a cup of mulled cider. Browse among a variety of great holiday gift ideas in the Green Briar shop offering jams, jellies, relishes, books, an abundance of nature-related items as well as books, games and toys for children. Unique handmade gifts and home decorations created by our Green Briar Crafters are also available.
