Wildflower Garden

The Dr. Shirley G. Cross Wildflower Garden is a definite highlight to one's Green Briar experience. Situated in front of the 1780 homestead, the garden was designed for teaching. The one-third acre contains over 300 plants and is maintained by a small group of dedicated volunteers.
This award-winning wildflower garden, conceived and designed by Dr. Shirley G. Cross, is a living museum for those interested in the study and use of wildflowers.
During the summer, the Wildflower Garden is the perfect place to relax with a good book from Green Briar's Swain Library or to stroll through and discover unique plants.
Guided Wildflower Garden Tours are held every Tuesday in June, July, and August at 10am. Cost is $3 for members; $5 for non-members.
